We will learn skills from a leader of the Christian Peacemaker Teams and a peace-loving martial artist. We’ll practice interrupting violence and bullying and standing strong.
Sarah Thompson identifies as an interspiritual theologian, black ecofeminist, and athlete. She has traveled around the US and to 60 countries doing movement-building work and to learn from those most impacted by structural violence. She is a dynamic speaker and Executive Director of Christian Peacemaker Teams. She is a licensed minister in the Mennonite faith and a member of Tzedek Chicago.
Tim Peebles is director of Peacemakers, a program of traditional martial arts, with roots in Mennonite conflict transformation.
The international Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT)places violence-reduction teams in crisis situations and militarized areas around the world at the invitation of local peace and human rights workers. We are open to people of all beliefs/non-beliefs who share a commitment to non-violence, justice, and peace. CPT is a Christian-identified, multifaith membership organization committed to building partnerships to transform violence and oppression.
