It was terrifying to be so alone
having no recourse
except the courage of God
stirring and waking in the
stern of the boat on roaring Galilee
But among the disciples was there not one
—rushing to grasp the shoulder of his sleeping Savior—
who might have laughed when he saw
and said with relief
if He is at peace
so may we be at peace
and let Him rest
rocked in the arms
of His Father’s storm?
