Worship

 

Each year, we invest about a quarter of our total spending on Worship.

​

• Sunday morning worship services each week

• Special services on Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunrise.

 

Included are a portion of Pastoral and Office Manager salaries, all of the Director of Worship Music salary, costs for communion elements, banners, dance supplies, music library, projection laptop, new microphones & music stands, instrument maintenance, childcare costs, and a portion of Church Office and Bookkeeping costs.

Christian Formation

 

Each year we spend about 10-15% of our total spending on Christian formation.

• Grow class expenses – for both youth and adults

• Youth group expenses including money for an annual retreat and a bi-annual summer youth experience

• Leadership Development

• Baptism or New member classes

 

In addition to the specific items mentioned above, included are a portion of the Pastor’s and Office Manager’s salaries, all of the Child and Youth Formation staff salary and a portion of Church Office and Bookkeeping costs.

Pastoral Care & Community Building 

 

Each year, we invest about 20-25% of our total spending on Pastoral Care & Community Building.

• Deacon’s Ministry of Mutual Aid

• Congregational Events and Celebrations

• Hospitality of bagels and coffee each Sunday at 9:30am

• Retreats

• Sonshine Group

• Youth Group

• Small Groups

 

In addition to all of the Deacon’s Mutual aid and portions of the line items mentioned above, included here are a portion of the Pastor’s and Office Manager’s salaries and portions of Church Office and Bookkeeping expenses.

Mission and Outreach

 

Each year, we invest about 15-20% of our total spending on Mission and Outreach.

• Annual delegations to our sister community in El Salvador

• Deacon’s Ministry of Neighborhood Assistance

• Support for the local and national Mennonite denomination

• Feeding the hungry locally through Interfaith Action

• Sharing resources through the Pick and Manna

• And providing holistic support for families through our Prison Ministry

 

In addition to the specific line items mentioned above, included here are a small portion of the Pastor’s salary and a portion of the Church Office manager’s salary, due to her significant assistance to the Deacon’s Ministry. Also included are a portion of the Church Office and Bookkeeping expenses. Cash given away is just over 10% of our expenses.

Facilities 

 

We are blessed to have two buildings on Custer Ave to use throughout the week, as well as hosting our congregation in the Meetinghouse each Sunday and two other congregations at the Ministry Center.

With the help of our cost-sharers, we invest about 10-15% of net expenses on our facilities. These costs include janitorial services, phone and internet, heat and cooling, maintenance, liability insurance, snow shoveling, kitchen supplies, 25% of our Office Manager’s time for managing cost-sharers, and small portions of the Church Office, bookkeeping, and Pastor’s salary.
